All things ‘roses’ are celebrated throughout Renmark in October, with the annual ten-day Renmark Rose Festival taking place from the 14th to the 23rd. Spanning across the Riverland region, the festival includes activities, displays and demonstrations that will delight all gardening enthusiasts.
Celebrating its 22nd year running, this year’s theme for the floral displays is ‘For the Love of Roses’.
The festival was originally seen as an event to bring people into the town and promote Renmark as the Rose Capital of Australia. The town’s rose gardens offer a magnificent display of colour alongside Ruston’s Rose Garden, the largest rose garden in the southern hemisphere spread across 27 acres. Famous for their display of modern and heritage roses of all kinds of colours, Ruston’s Rose Garden blossoms with 4,000 rose varieties.
So plan your trip to the Riverland now and upon visiting the gardens or local nurseries, you can purchase your very own ‘Renmark’s Rose’ bulbs for yourself!
