From Port Pirie to the Flinders Ranges

On the way to your next Flinders Ranges adventure why not stop by and explore the charming township of Port Pirie?

There are so many towns within a few hours drive, all with their own story to tell. Port Pirie lies as the southern gateway into the region before reaching the Flinders Ranges a further 3 hours’ drive north.

Enrich your holiday experience with a visit to the Port Pirie Regional Tourism & Arts Centre. As well as being home to Port Pirie’s accredited visitor information centre, it is also host to many unique and varied attractions.

Located inside the Port Pirie Tourism and Arts Centre, the gallery aims to deliver the opportunity for people visiting the Southern Flinders region to value and understand the importance of art and culture, with an emphasis on showcasing inspiring indigenous artwork. The gallery also hosts national touring exhibitions from major cultural institutions, providing the perfect insight into indigenous culture before venturing into the land of the Adnyamathanha people in the Flinders Ranges.

Uncover Aboriginal and pastoral history where cave paintings, rock engravings and other artefacts indicate where the Adnyamathanha and Ndajurri people once lived in the Flinders Ranges for tens of thousands of years. Today, descendants of the Adnyamathanha people still reside in the area.

With so much to explore, why not make the most of it and stay a while?
