Bay to Birdwood

This year’s Bay to Birdwood event will be held on Sunday 25 September. First held in 1980, the event celebrates the preservation, promotion and sustainability of the historic vehicle movement in South Australia. Only cars, motorcycles, vans, trucks and commercial vehicles manufactured before 31 December 1959 are allowed to be entered into the event. For vintage car lovers, this is an event you don’t want to miss!

On the Sunday, up to 1000 vehicles will assemble across the ovals at Barratt Reserve, West Beach from as early as 6am. Spectators will have the opportunity to line the start line ahead of the 8.30am flag off, where breakfast will be available by local food vendors.

Once the official flag has been waved, entrants will cruise their way up through the Adelaide Hills to the National Motor Museum in Birdwood where they are expected to start arriving from approximately 10.15am onwards. Mainstage entertainment will get underway from 10am with vehicle judging and presentations to run throughout the day.

Musical entertainment and children’s activities will cater for the whole family while the car lovers of the family are in awe. Quality regional produce will be on offer from local Adelaide hills wine and craft beer stalls while gourmet food vans will be scattered around the event.

The museum will be open as per usual throughout the day.
