South Australian Tourism Commission
The South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) is committed to growing the state’s tourism industry. It is a commission set up by the South Australian Government to promote the state as a holiday destination.
The SATC’s purpose is to work with industry to deliver marketing, events and development programs that support tourism growth. Based in Adelaide, the vibrant capital of South Australia, the organisation works closely with representatives in the 11 key regions of the state to promote the state’s tourism assets.
Adelaide Zoo, one of Adelaide’s most iconic attractions, is home to more than 2,500 animals and 250 species of exotic and native mammals, birds, reptiles and fish exhibited over eight hectares of magnificent botanic surroundings.
Adelaide Zoo is the second oldest zoo in the nation and represents a significant part of South Australia’s heritage and social history. Since Adelaide Zoo first opened to the public in 1883, generations of South Australians have shared in the wonder of a visit to the zoo.

Growers Gate is owned by grape growers. The local company respects the land beneath and celebrates the wine it produces. It takes years of hard work and careful nurturing of the vineyards to produce the best grapes and it is with great pride that Growers Gate bring the fruits of their work direct to you. Grapes for Growers Gate have been specially selected and represent the best of the Riverland region.
Growers Gate is a group of 600 proud farmers who have been growing grapes for generations and now want to sell the fruits of their labour directly to the wine consumer. They are deeply committed to their land, their environment and their communities.
Using gourmet flavoured breads, Backyard Bread have developed an innovative range of Bread Bites along with condiments, and more recently gluten free biscuits. Backyard Bread began out of a backyard wood oven, 5 minutes west of Barmera, where their aim was to develop gourmet products that would compliment the regions fine wines while showcasing the diverse flavours of the Riverland.
Having outgrown their home based business, Backyard Bread now have a tasting café with many of their gourmet products on offer for sampling and purchasing.
Port Pirie Tourism & Arts Centre
With an emphasis on showcasing inspiring indigenous artwork, the Port Pirie Regional Art Gallery aims to deliver the opportunity for people visiting the Southern Flinders region to value and understand the importance of art and culture. The gallery hosts national touring exhibitions from major cultural institutions as well as developing exhibitions on topical subjects that are of interest to the community.
Mannum Dock Museum
Mannum Dock Museum, home of the fully restored Paddle Steamer Marion, presents river history at its best. The Paddler Steamer Marion is a fully restored heritage vessel built in 1897 and is one of the last operational, heritage, steam driven, wood fired, overnight passenger carrying side paddle steamers in the world. Located on the banks of the River Murray in the town of Mannum, the Museum also incorporates the historic Randell Dry Dock, the Key’s Beam Engine and the Mannum Visitor Information Centre. Wander through, or join a guided tour, and experience a rich and colourful historic and cultural journey.
Angove Family Winemakers is a fifth generation South Australian family business with a passion for crafting iconic and single vineyard wines from McLaren Vale as well as a selection of premium wines from some of South Australia’s great wine growing regions. One of Australia’s oldest family owned and operated wine companies, the Angove family have a rich history dating back to 1886. In the early 1960s, Angove expanded into the Riverland region, with over 18 different grape varieties planted across the 480-hectare vineyard. Angove Family Winemakers are known for producing a variety of both white and red wine, as well as St Agnes Brandy. Visit the cellar door and sample the many delicious wines on offer.
A favourite among visitors are the almond and pistachio nut plantations, unique to the area. Almondco Australia is globally recognised for producing more than 100 almond products at the almond-exclusive processing facility in Renmark, South Australia. Established in 1944, more than 85% of Australia’s almond growers supply the company which is now one of the most successful horticultural co-operatives in the nation and a leading marketing force behind the Australia almond industry. Tour the Almondco Almond Hut as the factory is hard at work and taste the fresh products for yourself!

Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari provides one of the most exceptional Kangaroo Island experiences with a 75-minute tour around Kangaroo Island’s outstanding marine life and coastline. Dolphins and seals are only minutes away from the marina, outside of which you will also witness birdlife, soaring eagles, and depending on the season a whale or two. The tour also provides an informative summary on local history, wildlife facts and geological information.
